    In 1943, the Orange County Council split. The northern communities formed the Northern Orange County Council, with headquarters in Anaheim and the southern area was renamed the Orange Empire Area Council. The line between north and south was roughly Katella Avenue.
    Lost Valley Scout Reservation was created in 1964 (now Schoepe Scout Reservation at Lost Valley).
    In 1972 the Orange Empire Council merged with the Northern Orange County Council, to become the Orange County Council.
