Description
Henry Disston & SonsNo 99
7 Point Cross Cut
26 inch sized
1865-1880
The No 99 has a short window to begin with, this one being split nut puts it fairly early in production. The No 99 is fairly early in the line up and similar to the No. 9 of the same period. Disston claimed that only the best blades were selected for use in the No. 99, and called them Extra Refined London Spring Steel. The handle later in the run looked more like a No 12. Only the early ones used triple medals.
Due to the age I have not sharpened it. Rare saws like this have earned a place on the shelf. Over all in very good condition. Clean factory Etch. Straight plate, no busted teeth. some staining but good patina and smooth to the touch. The handle is tight to the plate, Split nuts have some buggered spots but are tight. See pictures for better details some chips and scratches that you'd expect with age. No repairs made or needed. Both horns are full. It's a sold handle, again taking the age into consideration it's very nice.
Have a look at the photos and details below. Let me know if you have any questions.
WHY BUY FROM ME
The goal with every saw I offer is to bring back the beauty in direct proportion to its overall condition
.Each one is checked before it’s sharpened and tested then tuned as needed. It's true I do this for profit but I've got a passion for saws that anyone who's talked with me know. I stand behind what I sell! It’s as simple as that. If you're not happy contact me and I will refund or work it out. I don’t tend to sell at auction rather I sell a top quality saw at a fare price. It’s what I demand, and what you should as well. My description don't spend time saying I'm the BEST or have a god like ability with a file, I don't trash other seller rather I try and to stick to the topic at hand— some history, details, and a few jokes. I'm very good at what I do because I've learned from others and practice a lot. I have love for what I do and I think if you take the time to read my blog or follow me on social media it come through. That passion I feel tips the scales in my favor and I hope gets you to try one of my saws. Rest assured if it doesn't go to your liking with mine or another sellers saw I'm here to make it good.
I offer restoration and sharpening services. Please contact me or look me up on the web.

NOT SO FINE PRINT
Please carefully review the pictures, I have done my best to describe things as I see them. ALWAYS feel free to email with any questions and I will do my best to answer them. I make every effort to ship next day after payment M-F.
I now use the ebay calculator that allows local customers a better rate then a single flat rate coast to coast.
I'm happy to combined shipping but please contact me BEFORE payment so I can combine
I accept returns up to 14 days
. I do not charge extra for shipping but do charge .50 to cover the cost of the box. These older saws can damage easily and I find it's better to use a custom box rather then recycle ones.
Please take a second to look at this and other saws I offer. I put a good deal of effort into each saw and I want you, the buyer to be happy. E-mail with any issues and I will do my best to resolve them in a peaceful way. Thanks for look and I invite you to read my feedback, It’s a gift and you should bid with confidence based on it.
